Which World Cup Team Matches Your Pet's Personality?

Every four years, the world stops to argue about football. Which country has the best squad. Which manager made the wrong call. Whether that was or wasn't a penalty.

Your pet, meanwhile, has been quietly exhibiting the exact same traits as one of those teams all along. You just haven't noticed.

We did the research. Here's the full scouting report.

🐕 The Working Dogs — Built for 90 Minutes

Border Collie × Germany

Tactical. Tireless. Never stops running even when the game is already decided. Your Border Collie doesn't just want to fetch the ball — it wants to understand the system behind the fetch, optimize the route, and then debrief you on what went wrong. Germany fans will feel very seen.

Labrador × England

Everybody loves them. They're friendly, they mean well, and they genuinely believe this is going to be their year. And then the quarter-finals happen. The Labrador remains unbothered. There's always next tournament.

Golden Retriever × Brazil

Born with more natural talent than seems fair. Everything they do looks effortless and slightly joyful, even when it probably shouldn't. Watching a Golden chase a ball is watching pure football philosophy in motion — beautiful, expressive, occasionally chaotic.

🐈 The Independent Operators — On Their Own Schedule

British Shorthair × France

Doesn't need your approval. Doesn't particularly want it. Sits in the exact center of the sofa and makes eye contact until you move. France has won a World Cup relatively recently and acts like it. Your British Shorthair has also won a World Cup relatively recently and acts like it.

Siamese × Argentina

Maximum drama, maximum commitment. When things are going well, the whole neighborhood knows it. When things aren't, the whole neighborhood also knows it. There's a reason Siamese cats can be heard from three floors away — they have something to say, and they will be saying it for the full ninety minutes plus extra time.

Ragdoll × Spain

Effortlessly beautiful. Technically precise. Appears to be doing nothing while somehow controlling the entire situation. The tiki-taka of cats — possession-based, patient, impossible to get the ball off once they've decided it's theirs.

🐾 The Wildcards — Never Count Them Out

Hamster × Morocco

Small. Relentless. Has approximately fourteen times the energy of anything else in the room and uses all of it, continuously, without explanation. Morocco proved in 2022 that size and expectation are completely unrelated. So did your hamster when it escaped its enclosure for the third time this week.

Corgi × Japan

Short legs, no time for excuses, full commitment to the team structure. The Corgi runs like it has a destination in mind even when it doesn't — and somehow always arrives. Japan's 2022 campaign was exactly this. Nobody saw it coming. The Corgi is also never coming when you call it, but that's a different conversation.

Parrot × Portugal

"Ronaldo. Ronaldo. Ronaldo. GOAL. Ronaldo. Ronaldo."

You already know.
